Brush and Balance Studio

Join Creative Sprouts, where imagination takes root! In this four-week program, young artists will explore the world of colors, shapes, and textures through fun, interactive lessons. Each week, kids will paint, draw, and experiment with various mediums, including paper, markers, and crayons. 

With a small class size of only five children, our program allows instructors to provide one-on-one time with each student, helping them navigate their artistic journey and decision-making process. Classes will last two hours, where we’ll utilize different types of paint and supplies, so please note that some materials may get messy! Parents can relax in our bar area or opt to drop off and pick up their children, as long as all necessary waivers and forms are filled out.

Our program focuses on building each child’s creative toolbox, encouraging them to express themselves freely, which leads to amazing results. Each week, every child will leave with a focal piece they are proud of!

4-Week Program:  $150 
Focus: Individual creativity, artistic expression, and self-discovery through structured lesson plans.
Objectives: Foster independence, boost confidence, and develop a love for art.

Creative Sprouts (Ages 5-7)

Hop aboard the Imagination Station! In this vibrant 4-week program, held every other Saturday at 10 AM, artists aged 8-10 will embark on a creative journey, diving deep into various art forms and mediums. This class focuses on learning the fundamentals of art, including color theory, composition, and various techniques.

Each two-hour class will include not only painting on canvas but also exploring the use of paper, markers, and crayons in their projects. With structured lesson plans that inspire independent thought and creativity, kids will learn to make artistic choices while developing their unique style. 

This program is designed, with only five participants to ensure personalized attention for each young artist. Parents are welcome to drop off and pick up their children, or they can relax in our sitting area during class. Our hands-on approach aims to boost students' confidence, and by the end of the program, each participant will have created a portfolio of their original works, showcasing their growth and creativity!

4-Week Program: $150

Imagination Station (Ages 8-10)

Join us for "Masterpieces in the Making," a vibrant and nurturing art program designed specifically for budding artists aged 10-12! With a focus on self-discovery through structured lesson plans, this 10-week course is limited to just five students to ensure each participant receives personalized attention and guidance.

Throughout the course, students will delve into various artistic styles and mediums, exploring their creativity while building foundational skills. Each week, our lessons will introduce new techniques and concepts, encouraging students to engage with the current art scene and draw inspiration from contemporary artists. As they experiment and create, they will be encouraged to make informed choices that reflect their unique artistic voice.

Our primary objective is to boost confidence and help students develop their own personal art style. This supportive environment fosters individual expression, allowing each artist to thrive and flourish in their artistic journey. At the end of the program, students will have the opportunity to showcase their best works in a mini-exhibition, celebrating their progress and creativity.

Classes meet every Monday at 5:00 PM for 2 hours, providing ample time for exploration, creativity, and skill development. Parents have the option to either stay during the class or drop off their kids.

Masterpieces in the Making (Ages 10-12)

This exciting and interactive class is designed for ages 9-10 to inspire creativity, critical thinking, and skill development. Over 90 minutes, participants will dive into hands-on activities that promote learning in a fun, dynamic environment. All necessary materials are included, and they will receive homework to take home and complete before the next session.

Held on the second Monday of every month, this class provides a great opportunity for participants to grow, learn, and engage with others. Pre-registration is required to secure a spot!

Brush & Learn: Art for Homeschoolers - 9-10 years old

This fun and creative art class is designed for children aged 5-8, providing a wonderful opportunity to explore their imagination and artistic abilities. Each 90-minute session is packed with hands-on activities, allowing young artists to experiment with various materials and techniques. At the end of each class, they will receive a fun homework to take home and complete before the next session.

Held once a month, this class offers a chance for children to develop creativity, fine motor skills, and confidence in their artistic expression. All supplies are provided.  

Cost: $30 per child

This engaging art class is designed for young artists aged 11-12 to further develop their creativity and artistic skills. Each 90-minute session will introduce them to a variety of art techniques and materials, encouraging self-expression and exploration. Held once a month, this class provides a perfect opportunity for young artists to refine their skills, boost their confidence, and have fun while learning new techniques. All necessary supplies are included, and each class aims to inspire and challenge participants.

Brush & Learn: Art for Homeschoolers 11-12 years olds

Join us on April 5th for a fun-filled Derby-themed paint event at 6 PM. We'll be recreating a stylish image featuring a woman in a chic hat accompanied by a horse, set against a backdrop of iconic Church hill spires. Earlier in the day, from 12 to 6 PM, explore a Derby-style shopping experience with a range of unique and fashionable items with different vendors and fun. It's the perfect way to immerse yourself in the Derby atmosphere, combining art and style in one day!

Whether you're a beginner or seasoned artist, Paulette will guide you step-by-step to bring this whimsical creature to life on an 11x14 canvas. This is a Paint & Sip class, so feel free to bring your favorite snacks, and enjoy a relaxed, creative atmosphere. Drinks must be purchased at the office, but you're welcome to bring outside food. Join us for a fun and creative Easter-themed pyrography (wood-burning) class! In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to use wood-burning tools to create a beautiful Easter design on a piece of wood, perfect for your holiday décor.
What to Expect:
I’ll provide pre-prepped wooden pieces with an Easter design, so you can focus on the fun part—burning the design onto the wood!
Learn the basics of pyrography, including how to safely use the wood-burning tool to trace and enhance the design.

This no-pressure class will teach you essential self-defense techniques, help you sharpen your situational awareness to avoid danger, and explore lethal and non-lethal defensive options.  It is designed for all experience levels—whether you want to actively participate or simply observe. No matter your background, you will walk away with practical strategies to keep you and your loved ones safe.

Your safety starts with knowledge. Come learn real-world techniques to help you feel safer and more prepared.

This class is being offered by Madras Martial Arts.
